I am honored to be elected as you incoming President of the California Alarm Association.
First, I would like to thank Mike Salk for his leadership and guidance over the past two years. His dedication to our organization has helped us grow and thrive, and I am grateful for his contributions.
I am excited to take on this new role and lead our association into the future. Our industry is constantly evolving, and it is important that we stay ahead of the curve. We must continue to advocate for our membership and the alarm industry as a whole.
I am committed to working with our Board of Directors and membership to identify and address the challenges that we may face, and to find solutions that will help us to grow and prosper. I believe that by working together, we can achieve great things for our association and industry.
The CAA Winter Convention went off with great success. Attendance was back to pre-pandemic levels with more than 300 attendees and more than 100 exhibiting companies. We had more than 20 workshop sessions that covered a myriad of alarm industry topics and current challenges dealers are facing in the industry today.
We held the inaugural Harvey Eisenstadt Sales Symposium where Kelly Bond and Audrey Pierson both gave great presentations and insights that sharpened our selling and closing skills. Thank you to Kirk MacDowell (lead chair) for organizing the inaugural Symposium. I know Harvey would be extremely honored and proud of the legacy you are caring on.
We also got to honor Chuck Petrusha as this year’s CAA George A. Weinstock Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Thank you, Chuck, for all the hard work and dedication you have provided to the industry over the course of your career.
Finally, I would like to thank all of our sponsors at the CAA Winter Convention. We had a total of 40 Sponsoring Companies with revenues exceeding $152,000. Your support is critical to the success of the Association. Thank you again for your contributions.
Moving into 2023, I am looking forward to our Day on Capitol Hill, ISC West, CAA Palm Springs Convention, in-person meetings throughout our 11 chapters, and active involvement from membership.
Thank you again for the support and your confidence in me. I look forward to serving as your President and working with each and every one of you to advance the interest of the California Alarm Association.
Here’s to a happy and prosperous 2023!
